Victor Bates has over 20 years experience with marine electrical and electronics systems. He combines his formal training from The University of California at Santa Barbara with thousands of miles of offshore experience along the West Coast of North America, the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, and the South China Sea. In addition to extensive cruising experience in his own boat, he has cruised in many different types of vessels from 30 to over 100 feet, both power and sail. This experience has given him a unique perspective on what works and what doesn't, under sometimes severe weather conditions.

Victor Bates specializes in complete electrical refits and upgrades of all electrical and electronic systems. Each project is thoroughly surveyed and evaluated along with the owner's intended cruising plans. All systems are then re-engineered and upgraded with respect to wiring codes and safety, power requirements of equipment packages to be added, and owner's intended use and capabilities. Only the finest materials and equipment are used. All systems are installed with ruggedness and reliability in mind. Wiring diagrams are computer generated providing the owner with a graphical record of all work accomplished.

Victor Bates can provide excellent local representation throughout SE Asia for any marine related company. Based in Hong Kong I can provide survey, purchasing and shipping assistance, project management, product sales support and vessel delivery services. Local support on an "as needed basis", by experienced American managers and technicians, is now a viable alternative to expensive relocation of company personnel.
